Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - Two 67's players were honored by the Ontario Hockey League on Friday. Austrian forward Marco Rossi was named Rookie of the Month of January, while Cedrick Andree was awarded Goaltender of the Month honors by the league.
Appearing in 11 games during the month of January, Rossi came back after missing close to two months on January 5th. Since then, the rookie sensation has put up 18 points in those 11 games during the month, earning him the rookie of the month honors for the third time this season, as he was named the OHL's top rookie for October and November.
As for Andree, the Orleans native appeared in six games, starting five for the Barber Poles throughout the month of January, winning all of the five games he had started. Andree held a 2.00 goals against average and a save percentage of .925%. Andree also put up two shutouts for Ottawa during the month of January, earning him the Goaltender of the Month award for the second time this season.
The Barber Poles hit the ice on Friday night, when they will be hosting the Guelph Storm. Ottawa will be playing their second game in 24 hours on Saturday at 7 PM against the Niagara IceDogs in the Arena at TD Place.
