
Otters drop third straight

Evansville Otters News Release
The Washington Wild Things got a sacrifice fly from Lance Koenig in the eighth inning lifting them to a 6-5 win over the Evansville Otters.
The Otters got on the board first in the second inning when after Cole Hilt doubled, he moved to third on a groundout. Following a strikeout of Rickey Clinton, Hilt scored on a wild pitch from Brian Burks to make it 1-0.
The Wild Things then came back with four in the top of the third, keyed by a two run triple off the bat of Mike Arbinger to make it 4-1 Washington.
Evansville made their move in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jeff Goldbach led off the inning with his second homer of the season to cut the Wild Thing lead to 4-2. Cole Hilt followed with a double. Rickey Clinton came up following a missed sacrifice bunt attempt and righted the situation with his fourth homer of the season to tie it at 4-4.
Washington took the lead in the sixth inning on a Chris Carter sacrifice fly. In the eight, Koenig followed with his to center to make it 6-4. The Otters got a run in the bottom of the eighth on a single by Brian McKenna to round out the scoring.
Burks (7-1) got the win for Washington. Andre Simpson (3-5) took the loss for Evansville.
The series continues tomorrow night with Chris Pillsbury (4-3) going to the mound for the Otters against Brendon Davis for Washington. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
