EVANSVILLE, IN – The Evansville Otters have acquired the rights to left-handed pitcher Keith Black from the Shreveport Sports in the Central League for future considerations.

Black went 7-7 for Shreveport in 2004 with a strong ERA of 3.46. In 19 starts, he threw 117 innings, including three complete games.

"Keith is a guy who put up good numbers in a good league last season," said Otters' Director of Baseball Operations, Jeff Pohl, "he's a guy that lives on the ground ball and with our infield defense shaping up to be very strong right now, Black is a guy who can really do well for our ballclub."

At Trevecca Nazerene University in 2004, Black went 6-1 with an ERA of 4.58. He walked just 15 in 53 innings for the nationally ranked Trojans. In 2003 for Trevecca, Black went 6-4 with an ERA of 3.53, striking out 73 in 86 innings.

The Otters host Ohio Valley in their home opener May 28th. Season tickets can be ordered by calling the Otters at 812-435-8686. Individual game tickets will go on sale at the Otters 4th annual FanFest presented by Prudential Prime Location Realtors on Saturday, April 9th at 9 a.m.
