Drew Miller traded to Calgary

Drew Miller has been traded to the Calgary Vipers of the Northern League for future considerations. Miller was unable to return to Richmond because of a lack of visas for international players. The Medicine Hat, Alberta native batted .291 with 37 RBI and 3 HR. Miller played three seasons in Richmond. He earned a Frontier League Championship ring in 2002 when the Roosters became the first team to win consecutive titles.

The roster continues to take shape as the 2005 season approaches. Blake Woods returns for a second season with the Roosters. The second baseman played 57 games in 2004 after being traded from the Windy City Thunderbolts. Woods' career includes a stint with the Washington Wild Things. Woods batted .288 with 38 RBI and 11 HR in Richmond. His career highlight came on July 20, 2004 when Woods tied a franchise and League record with three home runs in a 9-8 win over Evansville.

Scott Vetter, a native of Sunman, Indiana will begin his professional career with the Roosters. Vetter played two seasons at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. In 2004, he led the team in batting (.364), RBI (27), and HR (4). The Saints infielder posted a .562 slugging percentage in 33 games played.
