Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's today announced that Mr. Randy Burgess has joined the team as Vice President, responsible for Marketing, Operations, Game Day Presentation and Media Relations. Randy will work directly with team owner Jeff Hunt and President and CEO Pat Whalen to ensure the team delivers world-class fan entertainment and the most effective sponsorship opportunities to advertisers and partners.

"Randy actually helped us establish our game presentation format nine years ago when I bought the team, and I always hoped that one day he'd join us on a full-time basis," said Jeff Hunt. "I'm excited for the fans over the impact Randy's going to have our game day presentation, and excited for the organization for the contributions he'll make on the business and operations side."

"It's a thrill to be associated with an organization and staff that's such an integral part of our community," said Randy Burgess. "The 67's provide a great night out for families, couples and individuals of all ages, and my role is to enhance their experience at the game and make sure new fans and sponsors are aware of the fun and excitement we deliver at every game."

Randy Burgess is well known in Ottawa's sports and sports entertainment communities. He was a sports broadcaster at CHEZ-FM Radio before joining the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club as Director of Communications and Game Day Producer. He also produced game days for the Ottawa Rough Riders Football Club and the Ottawa Loggers Roller Hockey Club and consulted for the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club. Burgess is also well known in Ottawa's technology business community for his Marketing and Communications management roles at Webplan, CML Emergency Services and FAQ-TV.
