MISSOULA, Montana - The Billings Mustangs (19-11, 34-34) lost 6-5 in 11 innings to the Missoula Osprey (16-13, 35-32) on Wednesday in front of 1,247 to snap their three-game winning streak.

It was an offensively quiet contest the whole way with just one run scored in total through the first six innings of play.

Ricky Salinas threw 4.2 innings of shutout baseball in the start for the Mustangs, striking out five, walking four and allowing just three hits.

Billings found themselves on the board first after Carlos Rivero led off with a double in the third and scored on the RBI single of Jay Schuyler. Schuyler finished Wednesday going 3-for-5 with a run and two RBI.

The score would stay 1-0 in favor of the Mustangs all the way into the bottom of the seventh when the Osprey scored their only two runs before extras. Jesus Munoz led off the inning with an inside-the-park home run before Alek Thomas singled, advanced on a two-base error and scored on Zac Almond's RBI single.

The Mustangs then found a way to tie it back up in the eighth. With men on the corners, Dylan Harris flew a sacrifice to center to score Zeek White and even things at 2-2.

That is how the score would stay into extras as Ryan Campbell tossed two shutout innings of relief.

The Mustangs then posted two runs in the 10th after another RBI single from Schuyler who came in to score himself on a fielder's choice.

The Osprey would find themselves trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the 10th, down to their last out with a man at third. Brandon Leyton then delivered a game-tying home run, his fifth of the year, to send the game to the 11th.

Buddy Kennedy lined a walk-off RBI single to left to score Thomas in the bottom of the 11th and give the Osprey just their second win over the Mustangs in the second half.

The Mustangs' lead in the Pioneer League North Division is now down to 2.5 games in the second half over the Osprey.

The two teams will play in game three of their four-game series Thursday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
