Osceola Magic Fall to Grand Rapids Gold in Sunday Night Clash
January 7, 2024 - NBA G League (G League)
Osceola Magic News Release
The Osceola Magic fell to the Grand Rapids Gold at the Van Andel Arena 116-111 Sunday night.
Daeqwon Plowden led Osceola with a team-high 22 points. Grand Rapids' Hunter Tyson had a game-high 30 points and eight rebounds. In his second appearance of the season, Magic two-way player Kevon Harris collected a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
"It's definitely special to be playing again," Harris said. "I don't take the opportunity for granted. I've been out for a few months with an injury; it's been all joy to be back out there, and I'm blessed. We came up short tonight, but it won't always be that way. This team is filled with hard-nosed guys that come out here and compete; it's been fun playing with them."
The game unfolded as a back-and-forth battle, with Osceola's bench outscoring the Gold's bench 31-16. Additionally, the Magic dominated in the paint, outpacing Grand Rapids 48-36 inside.
The Osceola Magic (1-2), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will face the Motor City Cruise, on Tuesday, January 9 at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit at 7:00 PM. The game will stream ESPN+.
