Ortiz Returns For Seventh Season

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that veteran forward Ray Ortiz will return for his seventh season with the team.

Ortiz is the all-time leader in games played for the Havoc with 281. He has scored 75 goals and recorded 107 assists in a Havoc uniform. He is third in goals scored and points and fourth in assists.

"Bringing Ray back was important to our organization," Detulleo said. "He's a player I can trust to compete every night and his versatility allows me to play him in any situation on any line. He's a true professional and a great example to our younger players day in and day out. We also look forward to having Ray continue to be involved with our fans and the Huntsville community."

He has played in 347 career professional games and scored 84 goals and recorded 121 assists. He has scored eight goals and recorded five assists in 31 career playoff games. He played in 128 games at Northeastern University where he scored 18 goals and recorded 24 assists.

"I'm extremely happy to be returning for another season," Ortiz said. "I say it every year but it is really an honor to be able to play for one of the best organizations, coaching staffs and fans in minor pro hockey. I look forward to another great season of exciting and successful hockey in Huntsville."

The Havoc open the home schedule on Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 against the Louisiana Ice Gators.
