SOUTHAVEN, Miss -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Paul Clancy and signed goaltender Peter Di Salvo for training camp. Terms and conditions were not released.

Clancy, 24, played his rookie season with the RiverKings last season, appearing in all 56 games and contributing 13 points (3g, 10a) from the blue line.

"Clance did a real solid job for us last season," Landmesser said. "He hates to loose and gives 110% every time he steps on the ice. He will continue to get better and help us achieve our ultimate goal."

The 6-foot, 205-pound Newmarket, Ontario native was a plus-11 for the RiverKings, which was fourth-best on the team.

"I'm very excited to be back with the RiverKings and to build off of the great success we had last year," Clancy said. "With a lot of guys back from last year I really like our chances. Personally, I'm excited to continue to develop as a hockey player and grow off of a solid rookie season."

Di Salvo, 23, made his professional debut last season with the Pensacola IceFlyers. The Oakville, Ontario native appeared in 17 games in net for Pensacola, going 11-5-1, with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.

"Peter had a real successful rookie season last year winning the presidents cup," Landmesser said. "I feel he is ready to step up and play big minutes for us this season."

Di Salvo played for three teams - Sarnia, Barrie, and Oshawa - in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2006 to 2011. He moved on to Acadia University for two seasons in 2011-13.

"I'm excited about this new chapter in my hockey career and I'm looking forward to coming to Mississippi," Di Salvo said. "I want to come in and help this team win a championship."

The RiverKings open their 2014-15 quest for the President's Cup on October 24 and 25 at the Landers Center in Southaven, Miss. Receive a ticket to both games that weekend starting at $17 and get a free t-shirt. Groups of 15 or more who purchase tickets will receive complimentary tickets to a future RiverKings home game.
