Stockton Heat News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Stockton Heat were led by goaltender Joni Ortio and forward Drew Shore, as they defeated the Bakersfield Condors 3-2 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena. Ortio provided a terrific bounce-back effort, as he stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced and slammed the door late in the game when Bakersfield was pushing hard for an equalizer. Shore (2 assists) continued to be the hottest offensive player for the Heat, building his point streak to three games - his second such streak this season, while rookie forward Hunter Smith earned himself another point, giving him at least one point in back-to-back games. The Stockton Heat will return home for a good week of practice before hitting the road for a short trip to San Jose to face the Barracuda Friday night at the SAP Center.
