Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League announced Sunday that they have released forward Josh Brittain from his professional tryout contract with the club.

Brittain, 25, recorded an assist and 13 penalty minutes in five games with the IceHogs after making his debut with the team on Nov. 20.

The 25 year-old has seen action in nine games for the Indy Fuel this season, tallying three goals and one assist along with 36 penalty minutes.

The Milton, Ont. native split time between three ECHL teams during the 2014-15 season, the Kalamazoo Wings, Missouri Mavericks, and Ontario Reign, spending the bulk of his time in Missouri. In 73 games, he accumulated 46 points (22g-24a) and 125 penalty minutes.

Next Home Game: Friday, Dec. 11 vs. Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. Rockford returns home after a five-game road trip to battle the Iowa Wild. The first 1,000 fans 21-and-older will receive an IceHogs Beer Stein courtesy of Bud Light. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for a Blues Flame Lounge Friday. Fans 21-and-older are invited to enjoy live blues music, a happy hour special, and free appetizers at the Blue Flame Lounge on the main concourse.
