Orlando and Florida Match Up in Back-to-Back Preseason Contests

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they will compete in back-to-back preseason games against the Florida Everblades on Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12. Both games will be played at the Germain Arena, the home of the Everblades, in Estero, Florida.

The Solar Bears and Everblades begin the set with a 7:30 p.m. start on Friday, October 11, and drop the puck 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. Since these two games are exhibition contests, the results of the games will not carry over into the regular season. Tickets for the two preseason games will go on sale on Saturday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m. and will be available through Ticketmaster.

"This is a great opportunity to see our players in a game situation and evaluate the progress of our team leading up to the start of the season," said Head Coach Vince Williams.

The Solar Bears begin the regular season on October 18, on the road against the Everblades. They face the Florida Everblades again the following night for their Home Opener on Saturday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m.

The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
