Aberdeen IronBirds News Release
Aberdeen, MD - The Baltimore Orioles added 2010 third-round draft pick Daniel Klein to the Aberdeen IronBirds roster today. Right-handed pitcher T.R. Keating has been promoted to the Class-A Delmarva Shorebirds, opening up a roster spot for Klein.
Klein just wrapped up his redshirt-sophomore season at UCLA. He served as the Bruins closer, going 6-1 with a 1.90 ERA. Klein saved 10 games, the second-highest single-season total in UCLA history. The Bruins went all the way to the College World Series championship series, where they fell to the University of South Carolina two games to none. Klein took the loss in the clinching game despite pitching well. He surrendered just one run on one hit in a career-high 3.1 innings of work.
The IronBirds return home, following the New York-Penn League All-Star break, Wednesday August 18th. They'll open up a two-game series with the Hudson Valley Renegades (Class-A Short-Season affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays).
The Aberdeen IronBirds have sold out their season tickets for the ninth straight season. Group packages and standing room only tickets, however, are still available for the 2010 season. For ticket information, contact our box office at (410) 297-9292 or visit us online at www.IronBirdsbaseball.com.
