Frederick Keys News Release
FREDERICK, Md. -The Baltimore Orioles have assigned outfielder David Lough to begin a Major League rehab assignment with the Frederick Keys on Sunday. He is scheduled to bat leadoff and play leftfield when Frederick takes on Winston-Salem at 2 p.m.
Lough is recovering from a left hamstring injury. He spent all of 2014 with the Orioles, batting .247 with four home runs and 16 RBIs over a career-high 112 games. Last season, he also set personal MLB high water marks in stolen bases (eight) and walks (15).
Originally drafted by Kansas City in the 11th round of the 2007 draft out of Mercyhurst (PA) College, Lough is no stranger to the Carolina League. A member of the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2009, he batted .320 over 65 games with five home runs and 30 RBIs before being called up to Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Not a friend to the Keys during his time in Wilmington, Lough hit .333 (6-for-18) with three runs scored in five games against Frederick pitching.
The Keys and the Dash conclude their four-game series on Sunday afternoon at 2p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m. while it is the first Sunday Funday of the season presented by Heartfields Assisted Living at Frederick. From 1-1:30 there will be a "Meet the Team" event. Fans are invited to come on the field to meet their favorite Keys players and coaches and get autographs.
