San Angelo Colts News Release

SAN ANGELO, Texas - United League Baseball announced today that as part of scheduling changes due to Hurricane Dolly, the San Angelo Colts will host the Harlingen WhiteWings for six straight games from July 24-29, instead of only three games from July 24-26. Therefore, the Colts and Amarillo Dillas will not play their scheduled series from July 27-29.

To then finish off this 10-game, nine-day homestand, the Colts will welcome the Edinburg Coyotes to San Angelo for a four-game series from July 30-August 1. The teams are set to play a doubleheader on July 31, making up a July 4th rain-out.

The WhiteWings were scheduled to return to Harlingen after Saturday's game to take on the Edinburg Coyotes and begin a nine-game homestand, but Hurricane Dolly has made the conditions unplayable in the Rio GrandeValley.

"We are certainly very sympathetic to the situation in the Valley because of Hurricane Dolly," said Colts general manager Mike Babcock. "Thankfully here in West Texas we have been unaffected by Dolly and we can continue to host games on the scheduled dates, still bringing great baseball and family entertainment to our loyal fans."

The change in opponent has no effect on tickets or promotions for any games in the homestand. Sunday's game will start at 5:05 p.m. CT while the other five games of the series will begin at 7:05 p.m. CT.

The Dillas will play the Laredo Broncos in a three-game series in Amarillo, beginning today as scheduled, but instead of traveling to San Anglo for a three-game series, the Dillas will host the Coyotes on July 27-29 in a three-game series.

The change in the schedule is also due to the damage applied by Hurricane Dolly to Edinburg Baseball Stadium, home of the Coyotes. (see attached picture)

The scheduling change wipes out the final regular-season trip for the Dillas to San Angelo and the Colts have made all three of their trips to Amarillo so the season series concludes with each team having won seven games.

The Colts begin a 10-game, nine-day homestand today, July 24, with a Miller Lite "Thirsty Thursday," when 16 oz. bottles of beer are just $2. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CT and the gates open one hour earlier. Advertising, ticket, and group information are available by calling the box office at (325) 942-6587. All Colts games are broadcast live on "Cool 100" - KCLL 100.1 FM and online at the Colts' official website, www.sanangelocolts.com, which is updated daily with the latest team news.
