Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release
Harlingen, TX - Due to flooding and damage caused by Hurricane Dolly, the Harlingen WhiteWings will remain in San Angelo for an extra three days, returning to Harlingen on Wednesday morning.
The WhiteWings left for San Angelo a day early to avoid the storm and now will play a six-game series instead of the three scheduled starting tonight. The WhiteWings had been scheduled to return to Harlingen on Sunday morning for the start of a nine-game home stand, starting with three games against the Edinburg Coyotes.
Sunday's game will stat at 5:05 p.m. while the other five games of the series will begin at 7:05 p.m.
"Right now everyone in the valley needs to be focused on safety and getting back to a normal life. Cleanup at Harlingen Field will begin as soon as the City of Harlingen has some people to spare from the cleanup efforts taking place around town. Hopefully we can get back on schedule to host Laredo starting on Wednesday," General Manager Dave Kost said.
It is not yet clear how or if the schedule will be further affected. The WhiteWings are currently scheduled to return to San Angelo August 5th-7th. Additionally, these two teams lost a series at Harlingen Field due to rain July 6th-8th.
Fans with tickets for the scheduled home series July 27th-29th can exchange them for tickets to any other game during the season at the box office located at Harlingen Field.
