Operation Tribute To Freedom Night at the Hoover Met August 29th

BIRMINGHAM, AL – This weekend, the Birmingham Barons return for the final regular season home stand of the season and as part of the festivities, the Barons will celebrate and pay tribute to the men and women of our nation's military with Operation Tribute To Freedom on Friday, August 29th.

For Friday night's game between the Barons and the Greenville Braves at 7:00 PM, all military personnel that present their military ID at the ticket office will receive a free general admission ticket to the evening's contest. Throughout the night, there will be special announcements and presentations that will recognize the service of the brave men and women of the military and pay tribute to the freedoms that the United States and it's citizens stand for. Operation Tribute to Freedom is the Department of Defense's national program to recognize the men and women in uniform for their valor and success in the Global War on Terrorism.

The Alabama Army Reserve will be on hand for the game with information and their "Humve" parked in front of the Met. There are currently over 5,000 Alabamians in the National Guard and Army Reserve on active duty.
