Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
The West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate for the Milwaukee Brewers have announced that opening night at Appalachian Power Park on Thursday, April 14th will be enjoyed by Laurance Jones, a resident of Looneyville, West Virginia who won the Auction X-press opening day Ticket auction.
Laurance put in a bid of $585 on Thursday afternoon, just minutes before the bidding deadline. Auction X-press received a total of 55 bids during the ten day bidding period.
Laurance wins four (4) box seat tickets to Opening Night at Appalachian Power Park on Thursday, April 14th, four (4) Power team hats, four (4) Power t-shirts, four (4) Power souvenir programs, four (4) coupons redeemable for a hot dog, soft drink and a bag of chips and four (4) autographed team baseballs, and a certificate of authenticity.
While Laurance Jones is the big winner of the opening night package, the real winners are those who will benefit from the proceeds going toward the YMCA Scholarship Program. The $585 donation will serve as a significant contribution toward a program that allows less fortunate families to participate in youth summer camps and other activities run by the YMCA to promote a healthier lifestyle.
"We were excited to make these tickets available to everyone through Auction X-press. We are overwhelmed by the excitement of our fans as well as their generosity for such a great cause, the YMCA Scholarship Program," stated Power General Manager Andy Milovich. "We look forward to selling many more tickets through traditional methods at the ticket windows at Appalachian Power Park."
Single Game Tickets will go on sale Saturday morning, April 2, at 10:00 AM at the Power Front Offices. Based on ticket package sales, the Power encourage fans to arrive early Saturday morning to secure seats for Opening Day. Tickets will be available via Internet and telephone beginning at Noon.
