The Firebirds are encouraging all fans to wear orange to next Saturday's Opening Night. Flint will host the London Knights at 7 p.m. and all fans in attendance will receive an orange rally towel, compliments of Dort Federal Credit Union.
Between both Flint and London, 7 players are either drafted or have signed NHL contracts consisting of Flint's Dennis Busby (Arizona Coyotes), Ty Dellandrea (Dallas Stars) and Fedor Gordeev (Toronto Maple Leafs) and London's Liam Foudy (Columbus Blue Jackets), Jacob Golden (Minnesota Wild), Jordan Kooy (Vegas Golden Knights) and Alex Regula (Detroit Red Wings). Last season, more than 250 scouts representing all 31 NHL clubs attended a Firebirds game in Flint throughout the 2017-18 campaign.
Fans do not want to miss the Firebirds' Opening Night as the club currently holds a 3-0 record in 'home openers' through their first three seasons in the OHL. Flint earned a 3-2 shootout victory over the Saginaw Spirit in the inaugural season before posting a 4-0 win over the Spirit in September of 2016. The Firebirds then notched an exciting 5-4 overtime victory over the Ottawa 67's in last season's opener.
Opening night and all 34 individual game tickets for the Firebirds' 2018-19 season are on sale now and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com here. Single game tickets are $12 for bronze, $16 for silver, $20 for gold and $26 for VIP seating.
For questions, fans may call the Dort Federal Event Center Box Office at (810) 744-0580 or email mary@dorteventcenter.com.
