Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's announced two changes to their front office on Friday.
The club has hired former NHL goaltender Fred Brathwaite as a Goaltending Advisor, while Assistant General Manager Jan Egert adds the role of Director of Scouting to his duties with the Barber Poles.
Brathwaite tended goal for 254 games in the NHL with Edmonton, Calgary, St. Louis and Columbus. He played professionally from 1993 to 2012, before making the transition to coaching. His experience has included being a goalie consultant for Hockey Canada and goalie coach with the New York Islanders during the 2017-2018 season.
Egert is entering his second season as AGM of the 67's after coming to Ottawa with General Manager James Boyd prior to last season. Both previously worked with the Mississauga Steelheads, where Egert served as AGM and Head Scout.
The 67's open their regular season Friday night as they host the Steelheads at the Arena at TD Place, with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
