
Hunter Jones Backstops Petes to Home Opener Win over Kingston

(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes kicked off the 2018-19 season with a 4-0 win over the east division rival Kingston Frontenacs in front of 3,238 fans at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday night.
Sophomore goalie Hunter Jones earned his first OHL shutout, making 38 saves. Brady Hinz and Chris Paquette each scored one goal, while Nick Isaacson netted two, marking his first multi-goal game. Liam Kirk registered his first OHL point, an assist; Paquette and Pavel Gogolev also recorded assists. The win was the first for Petes head coach and alumnus Rob Wilson.
Thursday's game was the first time the Petes shut out their opponent in their home opener since the 1984-85 season when they blanked the Kingston Canadians 7-0.
