Oort to remain in Europe

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that JOSH OORT will remain in Europe is hopes of signing a contract following a successful stint with the Netherlands National Team. Oort scored a goal and three assists during the recently completed Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Poland. His team defeated Croatia and Lithuania, before losing to Poland.

Oort has spent the majority of his professional career in Europe, and had signed as a free agent with the Grrrowl during the off-season. "I appreciate everything that the Grrrowl organization and fans did for me while I was in Greenville", state Josh Oort. "I realized that a large part of my life, including my future, lies here in Europe, and therefore it was a comfortable decision to return. I will keep cheering for the Grrrowl, and know that the team will have a terrific season."

The Grrrowl will be in action at home for the last of a 5-game home stand, on Friday night at 7:05pm (Upstate Church Night) against the Columbia Inferno.
