January 10, 2015 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, held off a late comeback by the Harrisburg Heat to pull out a 10-9 victory the Eastern Division opponents. It was the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The victory for the Fury also gives them sole-possession of second place over idle Las Vegas, who will play Turlock on Sunday.

The first half featured a strong offensive showing from Luis Piffer and Tiguinho. The first half also included a highlight reel goal from Tino Nunez, who delivered a bicycle kick for a goal off of a Piffer assist.

With seven seconds remaining in the half, Zach Bautista scored the Fury's first shorthanded goal of the season to bring the score to 8-4. It was Bautista's first goal of the season and it came off an Israel Sesay assist.

Piffer and Tiguinho had identical point totals in the first half with two goals and two assists apiece.

The third quarter celebrated defense as there were only two goals allowed in the whole frame, with each team finding the net once. Piffer had the lone goal for the Fury to complete the hat trick.

The fourth quarter gave the Fury some adversity, but they never lost the lead. Harrisburg put on some late-game heroics but were unable to pull off the comeback.

The Fury went into the final quarter with a 9-5 lead. Ontario and Harrisburg traded goals just 33 seconds apart to bring the game to a 10-6 score. The Heat added three more goals in the final seven minutes to bring the game to its final score.

Piffer ended up leading the team in scoring with five points. Tiguinho was the second-leading scorer with four points. He now has sole possession of fourth place in points in the Major Arena Soccer League.

The Fury will return next weekend for a back-to-back set with Turlock in town on Saturday, Jan. 17 and Las Vegas on Sunday, Jan. 18. Tickets for both games are available at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office or through the Ontario Fury website at OntarioFury.com.
