March 11, 2019 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Moncton Wildcats News Release
It was a jamed packed weekend of hockey at the Avenir Centre with the final game of a double header weekend this afternoon against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan! The home team put on quite a show in front of the 5858 fans in attendance, racking up double digit goals with the final going in the books as a 10-1 win.
At the end of the opening 20 minutes the Wildcats only held a one goal lead over the visitors, courtesy of Jeremy McKenna, his 42nd of the year. It wasn't until the second frame that the Wildcats started to widen the scoring gap. Of the five goals scored in the second period, four of those were shorthanded, and all of them came back-to-back!
It was a full team effort last night with all lines contributing. Wildcats forward Brady Pataki was the only player with two goals on the night. Other scorers were: Jeremy McKenna, Adam Capannelli, Aleksi Anttalainen, Jacob Hudson, Jacob Stewart, Tristan DeJong, Mika Cyr, and Sean Stewart notched his first goal of the season!
Leclerc was in nets again last night with 17 saves for the win.
Our final home game of the regular season will be this coming Saturday - March 16th at 4:00 p.m. as we finish the season the same way we started by hosting the Saint John Sea Dogs. Reminder to everyone with flex tickets that this is your final game to use them as they will not carry over into playoffs. Hope to see everyone at the Avenir Centre to help us #DefendTheDen
