Omaha Beef Sign Long-Time Running Back

OMAHA, NE: The Omaha Beef have re-signed running back, RJ Rollins, for his 7th consecutive season. The 5'11", 215 pound back attended Minnesota-Crookston University where he posted rushing yard records with 3,073 yards, a career record of 29 touchdowns, and even holds career punting records with 150. He was 2004 All-American honorable mention, and was selected 2004 Don Hansen's All-West region third team offense.

Rollins first career start for the Omaha Beef was in 2006, when the IFL was previously the UIF. Rollins led the Beef with 829 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He led the UIF and was second on the team in receiving with 33 catches for 293 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also returned 22 kicks for 458 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed 5 tackles, and was named the UIF's offensive rookie of the year.

This past season, in 2010, Rollins posted up 758 all purpose yards (485 rushing, 273 receiving), and had a total of 14 touchdowns (12 rushing, 2 receiving). Head Coach Bruce Cowdrey is happy with Rollins signing. "I'm so excited that RJ has signed again, with his great leadership, it is like having a coach in the back field. This is a great way to start the season with having him sign back for his 7th season," Cowdrey stated.

The BEEF are celebrating their 13th year of Professional Indoor Football in Omaha, NE. Home games are played February through June. All home games start at 7:05 p.m. at "The Slaughterhouse" - Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the Indoor Football League, the premier indoor football league in America.
