
Reading Express Sign Experienced Wideout in Dexter Henderson

Reading, Pa. (September 28, 2011) - Looking for indoor experience at the wideout position, the Reading Express did not hesitate to sign veteran indoor player Dexter Henderson The Texas native brings a wealth of experience, including stints in the IFL, AFL and af2, as well as the CFL.
Henderson is a 5'11", 190 pound slot receiver and pure athlete. He has been a contributing member of indoor teams including the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz, Corpus Christi Sharks and the West Texas Roughnecks. His play indoors also landed him in camp for the Dallas Vigilantes, one of the more popular AFL teams.
Henderson's indoor play captured the attention of the Canadian Football League, and put him on field with both the Hamilton Ti-cats and British Columbia Lions. Most recently, Henderson has been working out with the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Atlanta Falcons head scout Marvin Allen says Henderson is a "great athlete, focused, pro-type route runner; definitely a phenomenal athlete with quickness off the chart."
"It's great to see the Express attract such nationwide talent," said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "Dexter comes to us with a history of productivity and consistency in the indoor game and we are extremely pleased to have him. He will give us top notch play making ability and also be a leader and mentor to some of the newer players next season."
Henderson played his college ball at Evangel University in Springfield Mo.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
