Omaha Beef DB Dustin Creager Named Player Of The Week

Omaha, NE - As a result of his excellent effort last Saturday at home, Dustin Creager, defensive back for the Omaha Beef professional indoor football team, has been named Defensive Player of the Week by United Indoor Football.

Creager help lead the BEEF to a 67-16 over the Wichita Wild last Saturday at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. In the game, he made a team-high eight tackles, had a tackle for loss, intercepted three passes (one of which he returned 22 yards for a touchdown) and also broke up a pass.

Through nine games this season, Creager leads the team in tackles with 46 and interceptions with six. He has also contributed a tackle for loss, seven pass break ups and recovered a fumble. This season, Creager and the BEEF's defense lead the league in scoring defense allowing only 30.7 points per game, turnover margin with +18 and total defense, allowing only 181.1 yards per game. In addition, the team sits in second place in the categories of rushing and passing defense, allowing 48 and 133.1 yards per game respectively. The defense has also tallied 10 sacks.

Creager is in his second season with the BEEF. The native of Mission Viejo, California played his collegiate football at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, for the Lumberjacks. He received several honors while in college.

Creager and the BEEF will next be in action Saturday when they head to Sioux City to play the Bandits at the Tyson Events Center at 7:05 p.m. The team will next be in action at home the following weekend, May 17th, when the Billings Outlaws make the trip to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for "Armed Forces Night."

The Omaha Beef opened their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
