Billings Outlaws News Release
Billings, MT. Travonti Johnson, corner back for the Billings Outlaws, returned home to Billings after a two day tryout with the San Jose SaberCats. The spokesperson for the SaberCats said that they were very impressed with the athleticism and abilities of Travonti "Tuffy" Johnson. The SaberCats opted not to sign Johnson at this time due to their depth at his position. "We prefer that Travonti return to the UIF, specifically the Billings Outlaws, to finish out his rookie season. We are very impressed with him and want to see him continue learning the indoor game under Coach Heron O'Neal's leadership. We intend to keep our eye on him and invite him back to training camp next January."
"It's bittersweet," says Coach O'Neal, "We love it when our guys get the opportunity to move up, but hate it at the same time. We are excited to have Tuff back....but remember, this man will move up. It's only a matter of time."
The Billings Outlaws are at home this Saturday, May 10th against the Bloomington Extreme. Kickoff is at 7:05 pm. Come early, get excited, and cheer your Outlaws on to Victory!
