Extreme's Burk earns weekly UIF honor

Bloomington Extreme quarterback Dusty Burk has been named the Offensive Player of the Week by the United Indoor Football League for his performance in the team's 51-42 victory over RiverCity last Saturday, it was announced Wednesday.

Burk completed 17 of 27 passes for 180 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 51 yards rushing yards to finish with 231 yards in total offense.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Burk leads the Extreme in rushing and passing. He has completed 133 of 219 passes for 1,528 yards and 28 touchdowns. He ranks second in the league in passing yardage per game with a 191.0 average.

Burk also has rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns to rank second in the league in total offense with a 213 yards per game average.

Extreme signings

In other news, Extreme head coach Kenton Carr announced the signings of two rookies, linebacker Paul Szezesny and offensive lineman Anthony Rubican to contracts Wednesday.

The 6-foot-1, 245-pound Szazesny played at Indiana University and Arizona State in college. He will wear No. 41.
