
Olympic Gold Medalists to Make Appearance at Panthers Game

Beverly Hills, Mich - Olympics gold medalists will invade Groves High School, 20500 West 13 Mile Road, Beverly Hills, Michigan on Saturday, January 24 at 6:00 p.m. The Detroit Panthers Basketball, Inc. will recognize and present awards to Think Detroit Pal Elite (TDP Elite) track team during half-time at the Panthers' home game against the Augusta Groove. The young ladies on TDP are all from Detroit Public Schools and fall under the leadership of Darnell Hall, 1992 Olympic gold medal winner. TDP Elite Track, brought home gold medals in the 2008 Jr. Olympics girls' 4x100 meter relay this past August when they blow out their competition with a timing of 48.68.
Owner and general manager of the Panthers, Kevin Carter, wanted to make sure that the girls received some recognition for their hard work. "We hear the bad things that some of our children in the community are doing so much that sometimes the good things go unnoticed," stated Carter. "Now I have the perfect opportunity to let the young ladies of TDP Elite know that the community is very proud of them and their accomplishments; and we are very excited to have the team at our game."
All of the Panthers' home games are family fun oriented and community focused. Throughout the season, the Panthers will recognize many of the areas non-profit organizations, groups, teams, and individuals who are making a difference in the community. Priced at $10 per person will give families the chance to watch a high quality, fast-paced basketball game without breaking the bank.
