Kebs de Laval News Release

Michael Anderson hit for a game high 24; Dominique Soucy and Charles Fortier chipped in 21 each as Quebec defeated Vermont 109-102 on Friday night in Quebec City.

The Kebs streaked out to a quick 12-2 lead on a pair of Soucy hoops and a three ball from Larry House and lead 37-22 after one.

Quebec had their biggest lead of the game with 10:18 to go in the half as they opened up a 19 point advantage on a Michael Anderson jumper, but then the Frost Heaves came back going on an 20-7 run to end the half down 58-53. Thomas Sanders had seven during the run and B.J. Robertson found Greg Plummer in the corner for a wide open three and the Heaves were back in it.

This one turned out to be a game of runs. Quebec went on a 12-1 run towards the end of the third due in large part to Alfred Neal, who hit for seven of his 18 points on a three, a mid-range jumper and a pair of free throws, and that was more or less it for the Frost Heaves as they drop the 109-102 decision.

After the game Quebec coach Dube Brais said, "That was a nice team victory over Vermont and the 37 points we scored at the first quarter boost us up for the rest of the game."

Vermont was lead by Greg Plummer who had 18 while Thomas Sanders chipped in 17.

Quebec is back in action on Sunday as they head to Manchester, NH to take on the Millrats. Vermont hits the floor again on Saturday as they continue their Canadian trip with a 7:30 contest against Montreal.
