Dontell Jefferson Joins Quebec Kebs

The Quebec Kebs of the National Basketball League of Canada announced today the signing of former NBA veteran Dontell Jefferson for the 2011-12 season. Per team rules, the details of the contract are confidential.
Jefferson, a 6-5, 195 lb. guard from the University of Arkansas, joins the Kebs after an outstanding minor league career to date. A veteran of five seasons in the NBDL, Jefferson averaged 14.5 ppg., 4.1 rpg., and 4.7 apg over a 159 game career with the Dakota Wizards, Utah Flash, and Idaho Stampede. A 2008-09 member of the All-NBDL 3rd team, Jefferson was a member of the NBDL All-Star team and is a past participant in the annual Skills Competition.
Jefferson was also called up to the NBA in March 2009 as a member of the Charlotte Bobcats. He averaged 4.8 ppg., in six games for the Bobcats. Jefferson has also spent time in training camps with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Atlanta Hawks.

"I have always wanted to have the chance to coach him and the opportunity arose in the offseason to do just that. He is a player that can play and defend multiple positions and will pose a huge matchup problem for the rest of the teams in our league. This is a person who has played and excelled at the highest level of our sport, the NBA, and he will be suiting up for the Kebs this season. I can't wait for the season to start."
The Quebec KEBS will also be involved in the first game of the inaugural NBL of Canada season that will take place on October 29, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Universite Laval.
