Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Josh Olson scored three goals as the San Antonio Rampage rallied from a three-goal, first-period deficit to defeat the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 5-4, in a shootout Sunday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Olson, stationed to the left of the Cincinnati net, tied the game at 4-4 with his third goal of the game when he deflected a shot from the right point by Jay Bouwmeester past goaltender Frederic Cassivi with 17 seconds left in regulation.
Ryan Jardine scored the deciding goal in the shootout for the Rampage, who snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 4-1-0-0 against the Ducks this season.
Patrick DesRochers came in relief of Travis Scott after Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead in the first and stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced in 53:15 minutes for the win.
Chris Kunitz and Pierre Parenteau each had a goal and two assists for the Ducks, who recorded all four of their goals on the power play.
Cassivi finished with 31 saves for the Ducks, who had their franchise-record nine-game home winning streak halted.
The Ducks play Thursday at Milwaukee at 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley Center.
