Ollie Osprey Takes on Pioneer League in #MascotMania

MISSOULA, MONT . - The Missoula Osprey, in conjunction with MiLB.com, the official website of Minor League Baseball, announced today that the team's mascot, Ollie Osprey, will take on all seven of the Pioneer League's other mascots for the distinction of Pioneer League Mascot of the Year.
First round voting starts TODAY, July 21 and runs through noon Mountain Time on Thursday, August 11. If Ollie knocks off his rival mascots in the Pioneer League, he will then advance to finals round to compete for the "Championship Belt" and the distinction of being Minor League Baseball's National Mascot of the Year.
TWO WAYS TO VOTE:
a) Online - There is an online landing page - ( www.milb.com/mascotmania ) - that will be linked through MissoulaOsprey.com and through the Osprey's social media sites - Missoula Osprey and Ollie Osprey on Facebook and @OspreyBaseball on Twitter. Fans will be able to enter a sweepstakes through this page. Fans can vote an unlimited number of times through the online ballot.
b) Twitter - Fans can vote by tweeting....."@OspreyBaseball #VoteOllie" ... all tweets should include @MiLB, #MascotMania. MiLB.com will track the votes through the twitter handles. Retweets will count as well, but only 25 Twitter votes per account per day.
As was the case in 2013, all teams will again compete within their League in Round One, which will run through noon on Monday, August 4, 2014. We will transition to Round Two on the afternoon of Monday, August 4 with the 14 League Champions competing for the Mascot Mania Championship belt.
Ollie's Pioneer League Championship Celebration is tentatively scheduled for some time during the home game on August 12 versus the Ogden Raptors.
The club will be on the road the 23 to the 27, returning home on the 28 for a six game series against the Great Falls Voyagers and Helena Brewers. Friday August 1 is Soccer Scarf giveaway night and August 2 is the fan favorite, 4th Annual Brewfest at the park.
Individual game tickets for the remaining 20 Osprey regular season home games are on sale now at the MSO Hub Box Office by phone at 543-3300 and online at MissoulaOsprey.com.
