
OL Reign to Raise Flag over Space Needle Ahead of Semifinals

SEATTLE, WA. - In a series of activations throughout Seattle leading up to OL Reign's semifinal match, the club announced today that OL Reign's flag will be raised atop the Space Needle for the first time in OL Reign history on Friday, October 21 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
The flag will be raised by NWSL all-time winningest head coach Laura Harvey and all three OL Reign originals, Lu Barnes, Jess Fishlock, and Megan Rapinoe on Friday morning, ahead of OL Reign's semifinal match against Kansas City on Sunday and will fly on top of the of the city's most iconic landmark.
"This has been a monumental year for our club in our first season playing at Lumen Field," said OL Reign CEO Vincent Berthillot. "We were thrilled to win the NWSL Shield in front of our loyal fans at home, and we can't wait to host the semifinal this weekend in front of another record crowd. Our club proudly represents this city, and it's going to be a very special moment when we raise our flag at the Space Needle on Friday."
The celebration marks the team's sixth appearance in the NWSL playoffs, fourth consecutive appearance in the NWSL semifinals, and third NWSL Shield.
Throughout the 2022 NWSL regular season, OL Reign shattered its attendance record on three different occasions and has already exceeded the current record with the number of tickets sold for the first-ever NWSL playoff game at Lumen Field.
