Seattle Reign FC News Release
TACOMA, Wash. - OL Reign has signed Brazilian midfielder Angelina Alonso Constantino to a three-year deal, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Angelina is an exciting young player with great talent and potential," said OL Reign head coach FaridBenstiti. "We feel that we can help her to continue to grow and that she will become an important player for our club."
Angelina joins from Palmeiras in her native Brazil, for whom she made 14 appearances and played 861 minutes in the Brazilian Serie A1 in 2020. The midfielder joined Palmeiras from Santos FC, with whom she won the 2017 Brasileiro Femenino and the 2018 Campeonato Paulista, as well as a second-place finish at the 2018 Copa Libertadores Femenina.
The 20-year-old is the first Brazilian player to sign for OL Reign in the club's nine-year history. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Angelina retains U.S. citizenship and will not require the club to use an international roster slot.
Angelina also has extensive youth international experience and serves as the captain of the dominant Brazil U20 women's national team, which has won every South American U20 championship since the tournament was founded back in 2004.
"I am very happy and thankful for the opportunity to be part of OL Reign," said Angelina. "New challenges are always important for me and for my career. I will give my best for OL Reign."
