
OL Reign Announces Players Available in 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft

TACOMA, WA - OL Reign today announced its list of players available for selection by Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC in the 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft presented by Ally.
Included in OL Reign's protected and unprotected lists are players whose rights to play in the NWSL are currently held by OL Reign. The unprotected list includes former Reign players that have retired, were transferred to clubs outside the NWSL, or otherwise have their rights to play in the NWSL controlled by OL Reign.
OL Reign has protected nine players, including one player allocated by U.S. Soccer for the 2022 season. The club has left unprotected twenty-eight players. The complete list of OL Reign's protected and unprotected players is shared below.

Under 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft rules, teams are permitted to protect up to nine players from selection in the Expansion Draft. Of the nine protected players, one may be a player who was allocated by U.S. Soccer for the 2021 NWSL season. All other players must be left unprotected and available for selection in the Expansion Draft. Each Expansion Team may lose no more than one player from each position group.
Currently, Angel City can select any unprotected player from Houston Dash and Orlando and can select an unprotected player from OL Reign who is not a forward and an unprotected player from Washington who is not an allocated player.
San Diego can select any unprotected player from Houston Dash, Racing Louisville, OL Reign, Orlando Pride and Portland Thorns.
The NWSL Expansion Draft will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. PT. The NWSL Expansion Draft, Presented by Ally will air on CBS Sports Network and stream live on Paramount+ and CBS Sports HQ, the free 24/7 streaming sports news network. The draft will also stream live on the CBS Sports HQ Twitch channel and on the CBS Sports HQ and NWSL YouTube channels.
