Houston Dash Announces Protected List Ahead of NWSL Expansion Draft

The Houston Dash have named the nine players that will receive protection during the NWSL Expansion Draft, the Club announced today.

With the addition of Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC, the NWSL announced on Sept. 8 that all existing clubs would only be allowed to protect nine players on its current roster, including one U.S. allocated player. The remaining players on the list will enter the expansion draft as unprotected and could be selected by either ACFC or San Diego.

Goalkeeper Jane Campbell, forward Rachel Daly, midfielder Makamae Gomera-Stevens, midfielder Shea Groom, defender Haley Hanson, defender Katie Naughton, forward Nichelle Prince, midfielder Gabby Seiler and a contracted international player who has yet been announced have received protected status.

The NWSL Expansion draft will take place on Dec. 16 and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 6 p.m. CST.
