LAST GAME:

Jack Cassel led the Express to a 3-2 win over the RedHawks at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Round Rock starter pitched seven solid innings, allowing one run on seven singles while striking out five in the win. Oklahoma's runs came in the sixth and ninth innings. Drew Meyer singled in Casey Benjamin for the first RedHawks run, and Nate Gold hit his third home run of the season in the ninth. The RedHawks got the tying run on base in the ninth, but were not able to bring it home. Sidney Ponson took the loss, despite pitching well into the eighth inning.

BOGGS BAGS ANOTHER:

Brandon Boggs extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the second inning. The seven game run matches the current RedHawks season high run by Jason Ellison, who had Wednesday evening off. Boggs is batting .414 during his streak with 12 hits in 29 at bats, while Ellison is hitting at a .379 clip with 11 hits in 29 at bats.

GOOD AS GOLD:

Nate Gold hit a home run in the second consecutive game, the second time this season a RedHawks has accomplished the feat. Gold hit a two-run shot in Tuesday's series opener, and followed with a solo home run last night. Chris Shelton was the first RedHawk this season to go yard in back-to-back games, doing the task against Memphis on April 4 and 5.

SIX STRAIGHT:

Oklahoma has hit home runs in six consecutive games, dating back to the first game of the Albuquerque series. The RedHawks have belted six shots this week alone (three on Monday, two on Tuesday, and one last night). A COUPLE OF FIRSTS:

Chris Shelton pinch hit for Drew Meyer in the eighth inning last night, the first time this season that Oklahoma sent a pinch hitter to the plate. Shelton struck out in the at bat, and then entered the game to play third base. Shelton had never manned third base during a game in his entire professional career spanning 755 major and minor league contests.

ROUND ROCK AT A GLANCE:

Kaz Matsui played his second straight game for Round Rock last night. Matsui is on a rehab assignment for Houston and is expected to make his final rehab appearance tonight... The Express have the second fewest hits in the PCL with 101, just ahead of Iowa (96) and are last in the league in hitting with a .229 average. Round Rock, however, ranks fourth in the league in walks and first in stolen bases... Former RedHawk Nick Regilio earned the team's second save last night, pitching the ninth and allowing the solo home run. Regilio only had six relief appearances in his career coming in to the 2008 campaign, and had never earned a professional save until earlier this season...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas bested Toronto 7-5 in 14 innings... Frisco had the day off... Bakersfield edged Rancho Cucamonga 3-2... Clinton beat Quad Cities 4-2.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Nelson Cruz had his six game hitting streak snapped with an 0-4 performance at the plate last night... German Duran was a late scratch from Bobby Jones lineup yesterday. Duran played Tuesday after missing the three previous contests with a minor injury to his left hand...

Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand.
