LAST GAME:

Oklahoma took an early lead in the second inning on a leadoff home run by Nate Gold, his seventh home run of the season. That early offense held up for Robinson Tejeda, as he combined with reliever Kameron Loe to hold off the Rainiers through eight solid innings. Kaz Fukumori entered the game to start the bottom of the ninth in a save situation and immediately got Rob Johnson and Oswaldo Navarro to ground out. After singles by Tug Hulett and Matt Tuiasosopo, Fukumori was lifted in favor of Bill White. Hulett scored on a single by Jeremy Reed, and Tuiasosopo advanced to third base. Brian LaHair followed with the fourth consecutive single, a base hit to left field that brought in Tuiasosopo for the winning run.

TEJEDA'S TURN:

Robinson Tejeda's first start of the season was a very good debut in the 2008 rotation. Tejeda pitched six solid innings and allowed only two hits. Tejeda's best outing in the RedHawks rotation last year came on August 8 at Sacramento, when he allowed two runs on five hits over five innings while striking out eight. The right-hander's quality start yesterday lowered his ERA from 5.19 to 3.07.

AWAY FROM THE BASES:

Jason Ellison had his 14 game road on-base streak snapped in yesterday's loss. Ellison had reached in every road game he had played in this season up until yesterday. The Oklahoma outfielder hit .279 during his road streak and walked eight times. Portions of this streak coincide with his 12-game hitting streak from April 5 through 25.

MADRIGAL MAKES HIS WAY UP:

Warner Madrigal will join the RedHawks roster after a promotion from Fresno following yesterday's action. Madrigal was a minor league free agent signee during the offseason, and began the season with Frisco. The right-hander went 1-0 with an ERA of 1.27 and collected ten saves in 11 chances for the RoughRiders. Madrigal was originally signed by Los Angeles of Anaheim in 2001 and spent the first four seasons of his professional career as an outfielder. He holds a career batting average of .272, and hit 34 home runs prior to the full time conversion to the mound last season.

SACRAMENTO AT A GLANCE:

The River Cats enter this series tied with Fresno for the Pacific-South lead at 17-14... Sacramento is one game under .500 on the road this season... The River Cats roster features 11 players on the Oakland Athletics 40-man roster, highlighted by Landon Powell and Jerry Blevins (the seventh and eleventh best prospects in the A's organization according to Baseball America)... Sacramento has won three consecutive games just twice this season, compiling winning streaks of three and five games.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas fell at Seattle 7-3... Frisco bested Midland 8-5. New RedHawk reliever Warner Madrigal earned the save... Bakersfield had the day off... Clinton lost 7-1 at South Bend.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

RedHawks pitchers did not walk a batter in yesterday's game at Tacoma, the third time this season that the staff has combined to accomplish that feat... Oklahoma hitters walked just twice over the final two games of the Tacoma series after having walked 11 times during the first two games... Kaz Fukumori earned a hold and the loss in yesterday's game. Both were his first of each this season at any level, and the runs scored were the first he has given up for the RedHawks this season.

ON THE AIR:

Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand. Fox Sports Radio AM 1340 in Oklahoma City will serve as the flagship station in 2008.
