OKC Energy FC Win First Ever Match 2-0 over OC Blues

OKC Energy FC opened its inaugural season Saturday evening with a 2-0 win over the Orange County Blues. Kyle Greig scored the first goal in franchise history, and Jimmy Nielsen got his first win as Energy FC head coach.

Greig's goal came in the 11th minute in front of 1,221 fans at Anteater Stadium. Christian Duke split the center backs with a through ball that found Greig, who put the ball past Blues keeper Patrick McLain.

Energy FC doubled its lead in the 28th minute when Peabo Doue headed a long ball down for Nate Shiffman to give OKC a 2-0 lead.

Ray Clark earned the win in goal for Energy FC. Clark played the full 90 minutes and made two saves as the Blues had six shots.

Energy FC returns to action Monday evening with a 9:30 p.m. CT contest against the LA Galaxy II at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium. The game will be broadcast live via YouTube Live and aired locally on 96.1 FM KXY.
