Today's Game : The Oklahoma City Dodgers make their debut at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, opening the 2015 season and beginning a new era of professional baseball in OKC at 7:05 p.m. against the Round Rock Express. Tonight's season opener kicks off an eight-game homestand and the franchise's 18th season as a member of the Pacific Coast League. Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and new team mascots Brooklyn and Brix will make their grand debut.

Last Season : As the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, the Oklahoma City RedHawks finished the 2014 season with a 74-70 record and tied for second place in the American Northern Division with the Iowa Cubs, 2.5 games behind the division-champion Omaha Storm Chasers. OKC finished with a winning record for the third consecutive season and for the 12th time in the team's 17 seasons in the PCL. The club finished with a home record of .500 or better for the seventh consecutive season (38-34), and ended the season .500 or better on the road for the first time since 2008 (36-36).

A New Era of Baseball in OKC : In September 2014, Mandalay Baseball Properties, LLC, announced the sale of Oklahoma City's Triple-A team. The franchise's new ownership group - Mandalay Baseball, LLC - is a joint venture between ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers and an investor group led by Mandalay Entertainment Chairman and CEO Peter Guber. As a result of the ownership change, Oklahoma City became the Triple-A affiliate of the Dodgers. The Dodgers became the fifth MLB parent club to call Oklahoma City its Triple-A home, following the Houston Colt .45s (1962-64)/Houston Astros (1965-72; 2011-14), Cleveland Indians (1973-75), Philadelphia Phillies (1976-82) and Texas Rangers (1983-2010).

The franchise officially changed its name to the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Dec. 3, 2014. The Dodgers nickname is the third in franchise history, following the 89ers and RedHawks. The team's new look, developed by the Los Angeles Dodgers' graphic design team, incorporates several elements of the Dodgers' history, as well as the culture of Oklahoma City and Bricktown.
