No Myth Here: The Tulsa Oilers play the Odessa Jackalopes tonight in the first meeting of the season. A Jackalope is a legendary creature, a cross between a jackrabbit and antelope, reported to live through the southwest.

Records: Oilers are 14-14-3 with 31 points in fourth place in the Northwest Division. Odessa is 19-10-3 with 41 points in first place in the Southwest Division.

Season Series: This is the first of only two meetings between these two teams this season.

Who Are These Guys?: There hasn't been a lot of recent history between the Oilers and Odessa. In fact, this is the first game Oilers coach Butch Kaebel has ever coached against Odessa. This is the first time the two teams have met since Odessa beat the Oilers 3-0 on November 8, 2003 in Odessa. The last time Odessa played in Tulsa was March 6, 2003 and the Oilers won that game 4-2.

Young Guns: This game features the top two rookie scorers in the CHL. Odessa 's Dominic Leveille leads all CHL rookies in scoring with 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points. The Oilers Jim Dahl leads all rookies in goals with 14, and has 18 assists for 32 points, making him second in the rookie scoring race.

Something's Gotta Give: One of these teams will break a small losing streak tonight. Each team comes into the game having lost its last two games.

Blueline Blasters: Two of the top ten scoring defensemen in the league are also in this game tonight. The Oilers Mario Joly is seventh in defenseman scoring with seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points. Scott Hillman of Odessa has five goals and 18 assists for 23 points and is ninth in the league in defensemen scoring.

Watch Out for These Guys: Sebastien Thinel has a 10 game point scoring streak coming inot tonights game with 20 points in those 10 games. Mike Rutter has assists in seven straight games for Odessa .

Next Up: The Oilers will renew pleasantries with the Oklahoma City Blazers, hosting them tomorrow night at 7:35. That game will be televised on Cox Cable Channel 3. Odessa travels to Amarillo tomorrow night.
