Laredo Bucks News Release
BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana - The Laredo Bucks were shutout 3-0 on Friday night by the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at the CenturyTel Center. Ken Carroll made 37 saves to stop Laredo's two game winning streak. The Bucks fell to 22-10-3, but still lead the Southern Conference and Southeast Division with 47 points. Laredo is in Memphis on Saturday to finish a short two game road trip. The Bucks return home on Friday, January 20th, and Saturday, January 21st, for Fan Appreciation Weekend. Face off both nights set for 7:30 p.m. There will be a very special announcement at the LEC on Fan Appreciation Weekend for Bucks fans. Don't miss either game. Bossier-Shreveport carried the play in the first period out shooting the Bucks 20-15. Laredo goalie David Lemanowicz was terrific making big stop after big stop to keep the game scoreless after one frame.
In the second period the Mudbugs pressure finally cracked thru. Forward Chad Spurr scored on a wrist shot from the slot to make it 1-0 Bossier. Bossier then scored again, this time on the power play as forward Jason Campbell tipped in a shot by defenseman Craig Minard at 15:01. Late in the period the Bucks went on the power play, but Mudbugs forward Dan Wildfong scored on a shorthanded breakaway to push the lead to 3-0.
Neither team scored in the third period. FINAL SCORE Bossier-Shreveport 3, Laredo 0.
Lemanowicz allowed three goals on 39 shots and took the loss to fall to 8-2-1. Carroll posted his league leading third shutout to get the win and improve to 8-7-3. The Bucks were 0-6 on the power play while the Mudbugs were 1-5. Bossier out shot the Bucks 39-37.
