Tulsa Oilers News Release
A 4-3 win over the Wichita Thunder Tuesday night moved the Tulsa Oilers into first place in the Central Hockey League's Northern Conference.
After Joel Hanson put Wichita on top, the Oilers responded with three straight goals from T.J. Caig, Dan Reidel, and Tom Maldonado, for their ninth three goal period of the season. Wichita's Brandon Kaleniecki cut the lead to 3-2 with 2:15 left in the first period.
The teams battled through a scoreless second period and late into the third period until Jake Riddle gave the Oilers a 4-2 lead with just 3:42 to play. But Jason Deleurme, playing in his first game with Wichita, scored just as an Oiler penalty expired with 57 seconds left. The Oilers held on for the win, which runs their home ice record to 6-0-0.
The Oilers play at Missouri Friday night at 7:05.
