
Bucks Host Showdown With Odessa On Friday

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will look for their fifth straight win Friday night when they host league-leading Odessaon Fiesta Night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Game time is 7:30pm. The first 1,000 fans to enter the LEC receive a FREE maraca, courtesy of Taco Palenque. In honor of the Mexican Holiday Dia de Revolucion, the Bucks will wear special Mexican themed jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game. The Bucks play the third game of their season-high five-game homestand Friday, as they look to inch closer to Odessa in the Southern Conference standings. The Bucks are currently 2-0 on the homestand.
Laredo has won four straight one-goal games, with three of the four wins coming in a shootout. J.P Levasseur has not lost in regulation this season (6-0-1), and is just the third Bucks goaltender to win four-straight one-goal regular season games in team history. He joins Ryan Gibb and Marco Emond as the only three Bucks goalies to accomplish that feat. No Bucks goaltender has ever one five-straight one goal regular season games.
Jeff Bes is in the top 10 in the CHL in scoring once again, as he enters Friday's game with a team-leading 17 points (5-1217). Darryl Smith (5-38) has scored a point in seven of eight games that he has played in this season, including the last five.
Igor Agarunov will play his first game since November 1st Friday night, as he was activated from the 14-day IR on Wednesday (Nov 18th). Agarunov isthree games away from tying Steve Weidlich (301) for third-place all-time in Bucks history in games played.
Odessa is in the middle of playing four-games in five nights, which will finish up Saturday at Rio Grande Valley. The Jackalopes host Texas Thursday night before making their way to Laredo for Friday's game.
Odessa currently has the best power-play in the CHL, as they have converted at a 32.9% clip (32-for-97), the top-ranked goaltender (Juha Toivonen, 6-0, 1.84 G.A.A,.931 sv.%), and the second-leading scorer in the league (Dominic Leveille, 6-1723).
**GIVE BLOOD, PLAY HOCKEY NOV 21ST**
On Saturday (Nov. 21st) Laredo hosts former Buck James Hiebert and the Texas Brahmas at 7:30pm. Hiebert has been a fan favorite in Laredo, and has played parts of six seasons in the Gateway City helping the Bucks win two President's Cup Championships. Hiebert's name is scattered across the Bucks record books, as he is third in Bucks history in goals (87), third in assists (164) and fourth in points (228). Prior to Saturday's game the Bucks will hold their annual "Give Blood, Play Hockey" blood drive at the LEC from 10am-8pm. Everyone who donates blood will receive TWO FREE TICKETS to an upcoming Bucks game, a commemorative Bucks blood drive t-shirt (while supplies last), and much more!
The Bucks will host a "Best Beef Ribs" tailgate competition starting at 4pm. The winner of the tailgate will receive a special grilling trophy, courtesy of Ed's Trophy's.
