Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League announced today the signing of rookie defenseman Jeff Buvinow.

Buvinow, 5'9" 175-pounds, spent the last four years at Brown University and played ten games for the Trenton Titans (ECHL) at the end of the 2011-12 season. During his sophomore season at Brown, Buvinow led all defensemen with 25 points and was named First Team All-Ivy League. As a freshman, Buvinow finished second on the team in points and earned ECAC All-Rookie Team honors.

"I'm looking for smart defensemen who can move the puck and Jeff certainly fits that description," said Oilers Head Coach Bruce Ramsay. "He was an outstanding player throughout his collegiate career and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do for our team. It's a good pickup for us because Jeff adds some depth on our blue line and I'm excited to have him join our club."

The addition of Buvinow gives the Oilers seven defensemen on the active roster. The 22-year old hails from Turnersville, New Jersey and will make his debut in a Tulsa uniform tonight when the Oilers host the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 p.m. at the BOK Center.
