Westblom Named Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas (December 4) - The Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that Fort Worth Brahmas netminder Kristofer Westblom - rid5229273&seasonid9603 was named Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 2.
In three starts this past week, Westblom went 3-0-0 with a 0.33 goals against average and a .983 save percentage. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound goaltender allowed only one score on 60 shots over three games, recording two consecutive shutouts in the process. He blanked Quad City Wednesday, November 28, making 18 saves in a 5-0 rout of the Mallards, and then followed it up with a 24-save performance in the Brahmas' 3-0 win over the Arizona Sundogs Friday, November 30 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Westblom, who has posted a 4-1-0 record in six appearances so far this season, leads the CHL in GAA (1.22), save percentage (.944) and shutouts (2). The Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan native was signed to a five-game contract on November 21 and was then re-signed to a standard player agreement on December 1.
Upcoming Schedule/Promotions:
The Brahmas prepare for two home games at the NYTEX Sports Centre this weekend. The team hosts the Denver Cutthroats Saturday, December 8 at 7:30pm for the first and only matchup between the two teams in Texas. The other five meetings are at the Denver Coliseum. Saturday's game will feature the annual Teddy Bear Toss for charity, to which fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals from home and throw them onto the ice after the Brahmas' first goal. All stuffed animals will be donated to the Community Enrichment Center of North Richland Hills. Also, the Brahmas will continue to accept new, unwrapped toy donations throughout the weekend to benefit Toys for Tots.
Fort Worth also hosts Tulsa Sunday, December 9 at 4:00pm for the sixth meeting this season between the Brahmas and the Oilers.
