
Oil Kings to Take on Winnipeg ICE in WHL Eastern Conference Championship Series

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings and Winnipeg ICE will meet in the WHL Eastern Conference Championship series, slated to begin next week in the Manitoba capital.
The Oil Kings are coming off back-to-back sweeps in the opening two rounds after defeating the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Red Deer Rebels..
The ICE are coming off a second round win over the Moose Jaw Warriors after closing out the series with a 6-3 win in Game 5 on Friday. They also defeated their first round opponent, the Prince Albert Raiders, in five games.
The Oil Kings and ICE meet for the first time since 2013 in the WHL Playoffs and third time overall (2012, 2013).
During the regular season, the Oil Kings and ICE played each other four times with the Oil Kings winning three of the four games.
Games 1 and 2 of the series go Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 in Winnipeg. The remaining schedule of the series will be announced at a later date.
