Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed imports Anatolii Elizarov and Dario Meyer to WHL Standard Player Agreements, general manager Randy Hansch announced Tuesday.
"We're pleased to have Anatolii and Dario signed and ready to go for the season," Hansch said. "We're excited to have them on the ice working with our coaches and becoming familiar with their new teammates."
Elizarov, Edmonton's first round pick in this summer's import draft (29th overall), is a 6-2, 197-pound defenceman from Russian. The 17-year-old played 21 games last season for Dynamo St. Petersburg in the Russian MHL junior league.
Meyer, the 12th player selected in the second round of the 2015 import draft, comes from the SC Bern program in Switzerland. The 6-1, 181-pound forward had 16 points in 25 games for Bern in the Swiss Elite Jr. A league last season, and played four games for EHC Visp of the Swiss National League B.
Both players are participating in Oil Kings training camp this week in Fort Saskatchewan.
